Well I will give you an example, in PoP if you raid a village you lose a ton of honor and relation with the lord. In Pendor you are effectively locked out of raiding villages and caravans because of the huge honor penalty. What people typically mean by good and evil in a Warband context is stuff like raiding villages, robbing caravans or saving villages from bandits for example. Doesn't connect with balance in any way though. Pendor's lore is nice, a lot of minor story details expanded upon. But sure, I'll just play pretend.īut, whatever, after all, since they've balanced this for ages, they must be in the right, and maybe I'm just not grasping something if I just absolutely wreck with a cavalry army. If I go watch Youtube, I'll find some guy destroying with an infantry only army, then watch another guy absolutely crushing with a cavalry or archer army. They are, after all, thrust into a new world where suddenly most the bandits are damage-sponges and face-bashers, and where the difference between tiers is high. Thing is, cavalry works amazingly well even if you don't know what you're doing, ala most of the newbies who think Pendor is hard.

Maybe I got too used to hyperboles being used in arguments, but I won't deny infantry work if you want them to, especially with someone as much experience as you and that Fred-boy. To sum it up, Perisno > PoP, PoP is very overhyped in my humble opinion. Perisno starts you out with access to an entire customizable troop tree, with troops that don't need 2 years of ingame time to be good. In PoP you have to wait to late game just to unlock custom troops, and even then you only get 2 troop types and they cost a insane amount of money and time to even make competitive with the stupid op units in PoP. More factions and they are more varied, race options, diplomacy actually works in perisno, and perisno does PoP best feature better, custom troops. Pendor also focuses way too hard on cav and archers, infantry are usless. Viking conquest has been the only warband module that has actually felt more difficult and not in in artificial way.

Basically skyrim difficulties slider but your damage stays the same unlike skyrim. They didn't actually make warband more complex or difficult, they just buffed the shit out of all the enemies and troops. All enemies are sponges with insanely high stats.

Personally i don't like PoP because to me it's not actually hard.
